what it means
Not every Republican is the same; however, there are certain principles upon which most Republicans agree define their respective worldviews.
Some of these principles are listed below.
less government + less taxes
Government is important - not all of it is bad; however, too much government isn't a good thing (same goes for taxes).
+
Republicans usually welcome tax policies that keep more money in your pocket, regardless of your income. After all, you were the one that earned it.
the constitution
Our country is diverse - and with that diversity comes a beautiful variety of beliefs, cultures, and faiths. This is a good thing.
+
With a population nearing 330 million people, Republicans usually believe the constitution serves as a sort of consensus-building rule book that includes suggestions on how to address and celebrate our differences.
the 1st amendment
Your individuality and freedom is valuable. The character of The United States is defined, in part, by the variety of voices and beliefs of its citizens. Your voice matters, and so does your neighbors.
+
Republicans usually believe that people should not be legally compelled to speak or do that which does not comport with their respective beliefs or voice.
+
Disagreements should not be addressed through censorship, but discussed with sincere and heart-felt efforts towards reconciliation.
life, liberty, and happiness
Life is valuable, regardless of your age, race, gender, or religion. The more healthy patriotic Americans, the better.
+
Since life is valuable and should be cherished, Republicans are usually against abortion.
+
Republicans believe in a woman's bodily autonomy and right to choose; however, Republicans also believe that once a woman gets
pregnant she no longer is dealing with just her body. She has hers, and another, that of the unborn child.
The 2nd amendment
Some people choose to protect themselves and those they love through faith. Some people choose to protect themselves with guns. Some do both.
+
Republicans usually believe the United States has kind and loving people in it. Republicans also believe there are people that seek to do you, your family, your friends, your neighbors, and your property harm.
+
While people take advantage of the 2nd amendment to commit reprehensible crimes, that same amendment grants you the right to defend yourself, and our country, should you ever find your life existentially threatened.
+
Republicans usually support the 2nd Amendment as it is written and opposes policies that curtail or restrict its effect.
